Dana Septimus, Ph.D. is clinical psychologist licensed in New York and New Jersey. She has extensive experience in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults and specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders and disruptive behavior disorders.
Dr. Septimus obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She completed her internship at The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut and completed post-doctoral training at the Stern College Counseling Center and the Fairleigh Dickinson Center for Psychological Services. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Septimus also trained in prominent New York hospitals, including Beth Israel Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital and Queens Children’s Psychiatric Center. Dr. Septimus previously worked at the Hudson Valley Center for Cognitive Therapy. She has also served as a consulting psychologist for the Drisha Institute Summer High School Program. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Septimus supervises pre-doctoral candidates .
She currently resides in New Jersey with her husband and four children.
